CHICAGO. Home to many contemporary artists, there are many ways for artists to make it in the Windy City. Networking, using the right fine art printing company (this city has hands down some of the best art printing, and framing companies in the US, if not the best), and having a good work ethic will get you far in this city. Many truly great contemporary artists are currently creating and thriving in this creative hub.
NEW YORK. This is a great city for anyone trying to make it in the art world. The only problem is population. But is this really a problem? Yes, there are many painters and creative types in the Big Apple, but there are also several thousand times that many people that have never even picked up a paint brush and simply love to be around art, visit galleries and museums. Cliché, but if you can make it here, you can make it anywhere.
MIAMI. What do you get when you combine great year-round weather, great curators, artists, and one of the largest Art Events in the world (Art Basel Miami Beach/Miami Art Week)? The great city of Miami. As a creative if you visit for Art Week, you may never want to leave.
LOS ANGELES. Work hard, put out great work, and rub shoulders with Tinsel Town celebrities, not to mention global celebrities. There are renowned galleries, street art, fellow artists, and opportunities if you network yourself right.
ATLANTA. The wildcard of the bunch, but truly underrated. An amazing downtown, curators, and great galleries makes this city the underdog but has presented great opportunities for artists to thrive.
This is just a think piece. Always put out your best work, network, and use social media to your advantage, and you can make it in any city. This is the digital era after all. Don’t forget to share this art/cle.
